Scott S.

Superintendent

I grew up in central MN, near Clearwater and from a young age, I enjoyed helping my dad build houses. Working with him showed me what a hard days work was like while simultaneously showing me what it means to be proud of something I helped create. While in my first year at SCSU I was offered a position as a union carpenter working alongside my father and haven’t looked back. I love seeing a project come together with all the moving parts it takes to accomplish. Leaving the site for the last time as our client moves into their space gives me an amazing feeling of pride. Seeing the turnover of the space to a client was not something I was around for as a career carpenter – it’s one of the reasons I love my position as a team member at Gardner Builders. It is also the number one reason I love starting a new project, knowing that we are working towards that moment again.
I love being on the water with my family. We look forward to getting out on the boat as much as possible in the summer and take advantage of Minnesota’s great seasons. My family and I have been looking for a cabin or house on the water for a few years and we look forward to the day we find our place on the water.
