It means having a positive influence on our trade partners, clients, and teammates each day.
I grew up in central MN, near Clearwater, and from a young age, I enjoyed helping my dad build houses. Working with him showed me what a hard day’s work was like while simultaneously showing me what it means to be proud of something I helped create. While in my first year at St. Cloud State University, I was offered a position as a union carpenter working alongside my father, and I haven’t looked back.
I love seeing a project come together with all the moving parts it takes to accomplish. Leaving the site for the last time as our client moves into their space gives me a strong sense of pride. Seeing the turnover of the space to a client was not something I was around for as a career carpenter — it’s one of the reasons I love my position as a team member at Gardner. It is also the number one reason I enjoy starting a new project, knowing that we are working towards that moment again.
When I’m not working, I love being on the water with my family. We look forward to getting out on the boat as much as possible in the summer and taking advantage of Minnesota’s great seasons. Our family purchased a cabin near Annandale in 2024, and we spend as much time making memories there together as we can between the kids’ activities.
